Advice and guidance for students
The 4th year of middle school is considered the first milestone a student passes through to choose their professional specialization. During this year, the student must choose between the core curriculum of sciences and technology and the core curriculum of arts. Students in the 4th year of middle school frequently ask for advice regarding this choice. Therefore, we wanted in this article to provide some advice for the student:
- Look to the future and define your goal after the Baccalaureate, or at least the field you like. Is it literary or scientific?
- Know that students in scientific tracks can usually choose all specializations, even literary ones, but if your goal is in the literary field, be sure that choosing the arts track will benefit you in the long run by giving you the best training.
- Evaluate yourself, your abilities, and your inclinations. Take a look at the subjects taught during secondary school and decide which serves you more. Do you usually excel in literary or scientific subjects? In which subjects do you have difficulties?
- Discover the most suitable revision method for you: After evaluating yourself, try to know whether you are better at memorization or at using your mind to think about scientific and technical topics.
- Accept the advice of your family and teachers: Family and teachers are the closest people to you and the most knowledgeable about your level in each subject, so do not hesitate to take their advice for an optimal choice.
- Prayer of Guidance (Salat Al-Istikhara): If your confusion between the tracks continues, perform the prayer of guidance, and God will guide you to the best choice.
We hope God grants you success in your choice.
